Kim Komenich
Komenich is an assistant professor for photojournalism at San Francisco State University. He was a staff photographer and editor for the San Francisco Chronicle (2000-2009) and the San Francisco Examiner (1982-2000).
He was awarded the 1987 Pulitzer Prize in Spot News Photography for his coverage of the Philippine Revolution while on assignment for the Examiner.
Komenich has photographed the ramifications of conflicts in the Philippines, Vietnam, Guyana, El Salvador, the former Soviet Union and most recently in Iraq.
